George M. Parker is the Director, Office of Compliance and Investigations, Veterans Employment and Transition Services (VETS), US Department of Labor, in Washington, DC.

He has been with VETS for 6 years. Before assuming this position, he was Deputy Director, Office of Grants and Transition Programs, at VETS and he worked as a Senior Principle Consulting Specialist at Serco and was responsible for expanding the company's Army Logistics business line as a member of the Government Business Directorate.

A retired Colonel from the U.S. Army, Mr. Parker has over 30 years experience in Leadership, Logistics Management and Policy Development. He received a M.S. in 1997 in National Security Strategy and Strategic Studies from National Defense University, Washington, D.C. and a B.S. in 1974 in Political Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro, North Carolina.

As Director Office of Compliance and Investigations, Mr. Parker is responsible for VETS' program to foster compliance and investigate complaints filed under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act and the Veterans' Employment Opportunities Act.
