Diane Seltzer, the principal of The Seltzer Law Firm in Washington, D.C., represents and advises employees and employers in all aspects of employment law and litigation. She received her B.A. in Sociology, cum laude, from Tufts University in 1988. She graduated from American University, Washington College of Law, in 1991, where she served as a member of the Law Review. She clerked for the Circuit Court for Washington County, Maryland after graduation.

She has conducted numerous jury trials in federal and state courts as sole or lead counsel. Typical matters which she handles include public and private sector EEO discrimination and retaliation charges, non-competition agreements, employment policies, employment contracts, management training, internal investigations of employee complaints, severance agreements, reasonable accommodation issues, First Amendment/Section 1983 cases, whistleblower claims, wage and hour cases, wrongful discharge claims, long term disability/disability retirement applications, and common law torts.

In addition to her private practice, Ms. Seltzer is a member of the adjunct faculty at American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington, D.C., where she teaches Employment Law: The Employment Relationship.

She is an active member of the ABA and is currently serving a three year term as Co-Chair of the Employment and Labor Relations Committee in the ABA's Section of Litigation. She is a Board member and past Vice President of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association, which is the Washington, D.C. affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association. She has spoken nationally and locally at various programs on employment law.
