EEOC'S Houston District Office and Mexican Consulate Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Houston District Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Houston today with the Consulate of Mexico. The agreement establishes an ongoing collaboration between these entities to provide Mexican nationals with information, guidance and access to resources on the prevention of discrimination in the workplace regardless of immigration status. Mexican Consul Oscar Rodriguez Cabrera and Houston District Director Rayford O. Irvin signed the agreement.

Court Grants Judgment In Favor Of EEOC in Lawsuit Alleging Retaliation

A federal judge in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, Southwestern Division, entered an order on Aug. 25 in a case the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed against Hobson Bearing International, Inc., of Diamond, Mo., the federal agency announced today. EEOC had charged Hobson with violating federal employment law by suing a former employee after she filed a complaint of pay discrimination with EEOC.

EEOC Issues Final Enforcement Guidance on Retaliation and Related Issues after Public Input Process

Today the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued its final Enforcement Guidance on Retaliation and Related Issues, to replace its 1998 Compliance Manual section on retaliation. The guidance also addresses the separate "interference" provision under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which prohibits coercion, threats, or other acts that interfere with the exercise of ADA rights.

Xerox State Healthcare, LLC ("Xerox Healthcare"), a healthcare company that offers healthcare program administration services for programs such as long-term care and pharmacy benefits management, has agreed to pay $35,000 and provide substantial injunctive relief to settle a disability lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today. EEO-1 Survey for 2016 Now Open

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has completed its mailing of the 2016 EEO-1 Survey notification letters.  The EEO-1 is an annual survey that requires all private employers with 100 or more employees and federal government contractors or first-tier subcontractors with 50 or more employees and a contract/subcontract of $50,000 or more to file the EEO-1 report.  The filing of the EEO-1 report is not voluntary and is required by federal law, Section 709(c), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; and §1602.7–§1602.14, Title 29, Chapter XIV, of the Federal Code of Regulations.  The annual filing deadline is Sept. 30
