Automobile detailing business OnSite Solutions, LLC will pay $50,000 to settle a race discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. EEOC charged that OnSite Solutions and two other entities were liable for racially discriminatory conduct by an affiliated company, On Sight K.C., LLC, which performed automobile detailing services for Joe Cooper Ford in Midwest City, Okla.

Labor Ready Northeast, Inc. To Pay $72,500  To Settle EEOC Racial and Sexual Harassment Lawsuit

Labor Ready Northeast, Inc. (Labor Ready) will pay $72,500 and provide substantial injunctive relief to settle a race and sex harassment lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.  U.S. Magistrate Judge Cynthia Reed Eddy entered a consent decree on November 9, 2016 settling the case for both monetary and injunctive relief. EEOC filed the lawsuit, U.S. EEOC v. Labor Ready Northeast, Inc., Civil Action No. 2:15-CV-01251-CRE, on September 25, 2015, in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Division.

El Chaparro Sued By EEOC For Sexual Harassment

El Chaparro, Inc. violated federal law when one of its male owners sexually harassed four female servers at its Greensboro, Ga., Tex-Mex restaurant, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today. Although the Greensboro restaurant has closed, El Chaparro currently operates another Tex-Mex restaurant by the same name in Covington, Ga.

EEOC Posts Webinar Recording on New EEO-1 Report

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has posted online a recording of its Oct. 26, 2016 webinar for employers about the new Employer Information Report or EEO-1 at https://www.eeoc.gov/employers/eeo1survey/2017survey-webinar.cfm. EEOC Files Religious Discrimination Lawsuit Against Akebono Brake Corporation

Akebono Brake Corporation, a Michigan-based company that designs and manufactures automotive brake components, violated federal law when it refused to hire a temporary laborer because of her religion, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today. The federal agency further charged that the company discriminatorily interfered with the temporary laborer's employment opportunities with her direct employer, a temporary labor service provider (TLSP).

Minneapolis School District Agrees To Clarify That Departing Employees Can File Discrimination Charges

In a conciliation agreement signed today with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Minneapolis Public Schools (Special School District 1), which is the third largest school district in the state, agreed to remove language in its severance agreements which states that the departing employee agrees not to pursue a discrimination charge arising out of his or her employment by the school district.
