MEDIA ADVISORY: EEOC to Announce Settlement Involving Discrimination Against Over 100 Thai Farm Workers
LOS ANGELES - The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will announce the settlement of a lawsuit against a major employer involving national origin discrimination against over 100 Thai farm workers in Hawaii at a Los Angeles news conference on Nov. 18. In 2011, EEOC announced the filing of lawsuits against Global Horizons, a California-based labor contractor, and eight farms in the states of Hawaii and Washington [EEOC v. Global Horizons, Inc. d/b/a Global Horizons Manpower, Inc. et al. Case No. CV-11-00257-DAE-RLP (Hawaii) and EEOC v. Global Horizons, Inc. d/b/a Global Horizons Manpower, Inc. et al, Case No. 2:11-cv-03045-EFS (Washington)]. The settlement to be announced involves one of the eight farms named.
