EEOC Chair Cari Dominguez and Other Top Officials to Speak at National EXCEL Program

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will hold its annual federal sector EXCEL program from August 22 to 25, 2005, at the MGM Grand Hotel, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd., South, Las Vegas, Nevada. The theme of this conference is Examining Conflicts in Employment Law (EXCEL).

EEOC's annual EXCEL conference is the premier program for EEO professionals and the most comprehensive of its kind. This interactive educational forum examines contemporary EEO and other workplace issues. The program features seven plenary sessions and 50 different workshops touching on a wide range of timely topics, including: Management Directive (MD)-715, preventing discrimination, communication differences, mediation tactics, ethics, creative management, sufficiency of investigations, and settlement techniques. Participants receive information on recent developments in employment laws and changes in agency procedures. Featured speakers include top officials and staff from the EEOC, Office of Personnel Management, Merit Systems Protection Board, Federal Labor Relations Authority, Department of Homeland Security, Veterans Administration, and other key agencies.

EEOC Chair Cari M. Dominguez is scheduled to deliver remarks on the opening morning of the conference on Monday, Aug. 22, at 8:45 a.m. Other highlights that day include lunch with keynote speaker EEOC Vice Chair Naomi Earp, a town hall update from EEOC Chief Operating Officer Leonora Guarraia, and presentations by the agency's Office of Federal Operations Director Carlton Hadden and Office of Field Programs Director Nicholas Inzeo.
