Tamco Professional Coating Services to Pay $90,000 to Resolve EEOC Disability Lawsuit

Tamco Professional Coating Services, Inc. (Tamco) has agreed to pay a foreperson $90,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. Tamco, which is based in Houma, Louisiana, performs sandblasting, painting, soda blasting, pressure washing, water blasting, cleaning, coating, and minor fabrication and repair services. The lawsuit was resolved through a consent decree, which U.S. District Judge Greg Guidry approved on July 26, 2019.

Coffel Vending Sued by EEOC for Race Discrimination 

A northern Indiana vending and coffee service provider rejected a black applicant for an open position because of his race according to a lawsuit filed on August 07, 2019 by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). According to the EEOC's lawsuit, Coffel Vending in Mishawaka, Indiana favored Caucasian applicants for Vending Service Representative positions at the company and refused to hire a Black applicant with many years of experience because of his race.

The EEOC further charged that the company failed to provide a reasonable accommodation to Jackson and refused to directly hire Jackson because of her disability.

HM Solutions, Inc., a Greenville, S.C.-based company that provides commercial and industrial janitorial services, violated federal law when it subjected four female employees to a sexually hostile work environment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed July 22, 2019. The EEOC's lawsuit also alleges that HM Solutions further violated federal law by discharging the four female employees because they did not acquiesce to sexual harassment or because they complained about the sexually hostile work environment.
