EEOC Sues Tri-County Lexus For Religious Discrimination

Today the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a religious discrimination suit against Tri-County Lexus, a large dealership in Little Falls, N.J., alleging that the company violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by refusing to hire a Sikh man for a sales position solely because he refused to shave his beard, which is required by his faith.

EEOC Sues Barnhouse Restaurant in Kewanee for Sexual Harassment and Retaliation

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit on September 23 charging that Levidion, Inc., doing business as the Barnhouse Restaurant, violated federal law by sexually harassing female employees and retaliating against employees who complained about it.  The EEOC also asserted that the harassment was so intolerable that several women were forced to resign their jobs to avoid the harassment.  Barnhouse Restaurant is located in Kewanee, Ill., near the Quad Cities, which span the Mississippi River in northwestern Illinois and Iowa.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today that it has filed a discrimination lawsuit against Smile Brands of Texas. L.P., formerly known as Bright Now! Dental Association, L.P., doing business as Monarch Dental Associates, L.P. which operates a practice in Burleson, Texas, alleging that two female employees there were subjected to a sexually hostile work environment by the lead dentist.

The suit alleges that Dillard's discriminated against Virginia Keene when it discharged her from the position of area sales manager at its store in Cary, N.C., because of her age, 61, in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).
