EEOC to Explore Impact of Economy on Older Workers at Meeting on Wednesday, November 17

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit yesterday against Maverik, Inc., owners of the Maverik Country Store convenience store chain. which has locations through the mountain West.  According to EEOC's complaint, Maverik intentionally and unlawfully discriminated against Randy Ramos, who is HIV-positive, in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will announce the settlement of an age discrimination lawsuit against a major corporation at a Las Vegas news conference on September 29.  The EEOC's lawsuit included allegations of widespread age discrimination and the termination of a class of older workers over the age of 40 who were replaced by younger staff.  Several victims, along with EEOC officials, will make statements about the discrimination suffered at the news conference in Las Vegas.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today announced that Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores, Inc. will pay $70,000 as part of a settlement of a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by the EEOC.  The EEOC had charged that Love's subjected two young female cashiers to repeated and serious sex-based abuse by customers.
