EEOC and Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sign National Memorandum of Understanding

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States signed a national Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today which is designed to further strengthen their collaborative efforts to provide immigrant, migrant and otherwise vulnerable Mexican workers and their employers with guidance and information and access to education about their rights and responsibilities under the laws enforced by the EEOC.

EEOC Sues Windmill Farms Nursery and Moreno Farms for Sexual Harassment

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed two separate sexual harassment lawsuits yesterday afternoon -- one against Windmill Farms Nursery, Inc., a plant material wholesaler and nursery located in Zolfo Springs, Fla., and another against Moreno Farms, Inc., a farming business with packing and distribution facilities in Felda, Fla. -- the agency announced today.

EEOC Lawsuit Challenges Orion Energy Wellness Program and Related Firing of Employee

Manitowoc, Wis.-based Orion Energy Systems violated federal law by requiring an employee to submit to medical exams and inquiries that were not job-related and consistent with business necessity as part of a so-called "wellness program," which was not voluntary, and then by firing the employee when she objected to the program, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today.

Bertolini Corporation to Pay $92,500 to Settle EEOC Retaliation Lawsuit

Bertolini Corporation, a stackable chair manufacturer based in Chino, Calif., will pay $92,500 to settle a retaliation lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The EEOC had charged Bertolini Corporation in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., with unlawful retaliation against two employees.

EEOC Sues MountainKing Potatoes for Sexual Harassment and Retaliation

MountainKing Potatoes, the name under which Smokin' Spuds, Inc. and Farming Technology, Inc., operate a potato warehouse in Monte Vista, Colo., created a hostile work environment by allowing managers to sexually harass female employees, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today.  The EEOC also charged that the company unlawfully retaliated against those who complained about the sexual harassment.

Royal Tire Will Pay $182,500 for Wage  Discrimination Against Female Executive

Royal Tire, Inc., a commercial and retail tire company based in St. Cloud, Minn., will pay $182,500 and be subject to detailed consent decree which resolves a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The decree was approved on July 31, 2014 by Judge John R. Tunheim of U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
