Pregnancy Discrimination - Example

Here is an example of unfair treatment at work that may be based on pregnancy:

Meg, who is five months pregnant, applied for a job at a local coffee shop. The manager acknowledged that Meg was qualified, but declined to hire her, explaining that the store was extremely busy with a fast-paced work environment, and that it was unlikely that a woman "in her condition" could keep up. The manager discriminated against Meg if he did not hire her because she is pregnant.
