Raymond L. Peeler

Mr. Peeler is a Senior Attorney-Advisor in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Office of Legal Counsel, where he assists the Commission in development and drafting of policy and regulations concerning Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Equal Pay Act. His duties also include acting as a liaison to the Interagency Policy Committee and the State Department regarding the government's human rights obligations under international treaties. In this role, he has represented the agency at meetings before the Organization of American States' Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. He has spoken widely to employers, agencies, attorneys, interest groups and foreign visitors about a variety of EEOC-related issues, and has provided internal training for EEOC staff on a variety of subjects. From 1999 - 2004, Raymond served as an attorney in the Appellate Review Program of the EEOC Office of Federal Operations (OFO), where he reviewed discrimination claims from federal employees, and drafted decisions regarding their appeals. Mr. Peeler is a past Government Fellow to the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section (EEO Committee). He has contributed to the "Federal Employee Litigation" chapter of the Bureau of National Affairs reference book on EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION, 5th Ed. (2012), and its supplements. Raymond earned a B.A. from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA, and a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in Atlanta, GA.
