Meijer, Inc. Pays $30,000 to Settle EEOC Disability Discrimination Suit

DETROIT – Meijer, Inc., a grocery store chain based in Grand Rapids, Mich., will pay $30,000 and provide other relief to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. The EEOC alleged that Meijer violated federal law by denying an employee a reasonable accommodation and demoting him to a lower-paying job because of his disability.

Ryder and Kimco Settle EEOC Race Harassment and Retaliation Lawsuits for $2 Million

LOS ANGELES – Ryder Integrated Logistics, Inc., a Miami-based transportation and supply chain solutions company, and Orange County-based staffing agency Kimco Staffing Services, Inc. will pay $1 million each, for a total of $2 million, and provide significant injunctive relief to resolve the lawsuit alleging that the companies violated federal law by subjecting African American employees to racial discrimination, harassment and retaliation, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today.

American Addiction Centers Settles EEOC Pregnancy Discrimination Suit

DALLAS – Dallas-based Greenhouse Outpatient Center and its parent company, American Addiction Centers, agreed to damages of $146,613 and provide other relief to settle a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

EEOC Collects Over $4.8 Million on Judgment in Labor Trafficking Case Against Maui Pineapple for Thai Farmworkers

LOS ANGELES – The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today that $4.8 million has been recovered to satisfy a judgment in a national origin and race discrimination lawsuit brought by the EEOC against Maui Pineapple. EEOC Sues Hiland Dairy for Disability Discrimination

ST. LOUIS – Hiland Dairy Foods, a Missouri-based producer and distributor of dairy products, violated federal law when it refused to hire a man to work in its Norman, Okla., plant because he was vision-impaired, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today.
