NEXT PUBLIC COMMISSION MEETING TO BE HELD AUGUST 8

WASHINGTON -  The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will hold its next meeting on Monday, August 8, 2005, at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time), at agency headquarters in the Clarence M. Mitchell, Jr. Conference Room (9th floor), 1801 L Street, N.W. 

   

In accordance with the Sunshine Act, the meeting is open for public observation of the Commission's deliberations.  Following the announcement of Notation Votes, the meeting will include presentations by EEOC staff on the following items (EEOC procedures require it to vote on the authorization of funding for contracts above a certain threshold): 

         
  • Purchase of videoconferencing equipment, and
  •      
  • Upgrade the hardware and software to enhance the EEOC's Integrated Mission System           (IMS) and to integrate the Fair Employment Practices Agencies (FEPAs) into the IMS.           FEPAs are state and local agencies with which the EEOC has contractual worksharing           agreements to process employment discrimination charges.  IMS is the EEOC's primary           information system used to manage mission-critical data on charge and case-related activities.
