The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will hold a public Commission Meeting at its headquarters building on Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at 10:00 am (Panels 1 and 2) and 2:00 pm (Panels 3 and 4) in the Clarence M. Mitchell, Jr. Conference Room (9th Floor), 1801 L Street, N.W. The theme of the meeting will be the federal sector EEO process and possible reforms.

Following opening remarks from Commission members, four panels will address various aspects of federal sector EEO reform:

Panel 1: Individuals who have gone through the EEO complaint process as complainants or who can relate the experiences of a complainant

Panel 2: EEO practitioners who work at federal agencies as managers or directors of the component responsible for the EEO complaint process

Panel 3: Individuals who have examined aspects of the federal sector complaint process

Panel 4: Panelists representing widely acknowledged stakeholder groups involved in federal sector EEO complaint processing

NOTE TO MEDIA: Seating in the meeting room is limited to approximately 125 people; however, two overflow rooms will have closed circuit television of the meeting - the 10th Floor Conference Room and the 1st Floor Training Room. Members of the public are requested to arrive before 9:00 am for the morning session and/or 1:00 pm for the afternoon session to allow sufficient time to complete entry procedures prior to the meeting. Any matters not discussed or concluded may be carried over to a later meeting. The Commission agenda is subject to revision.
