Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs)

The EEOC enters into Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to establish cooperative relationships with other entities. The EEOC has MOUs with a number of different federal agencies with overlapping enforcement responsibility with the EEOC. These MOUs promote efficiency and consistency by addressing referrals, information sharing, training, outreach, and data collection. The EEOC also has an MOU with the association of state attorney generals and a model MOU for agreements between the EEOC and nations/tribes. Some of the EEOC’s MOUs are reached with foreign governments to help enhance cooperation on employment discrimination that may affect the citizens of those countries working in the United States.
