Papermoon Strip Club to Pay $95,000 to Settle EEOC Race Discrimination Lawsuit

The owners/operators of a Stuart, Fla., strip club will pay $95,000 and furnish other relief to settle a race discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The EEOC had charged that Papermoon-Stuart, Inc., and Imaginary Images, Inc., a Richmond, Va., parent corporation, violated federal law when they subjected two black doormen to racial harassment, segregation, and differing terms and conditions of employment.  The company also retaliated against white employees who complained, the EEOC said.

Mike Enyart & Sons Will Pay $87,205 to Settle EEOC Race Discrimination and Retaliation Lawsuit

A South Point, Ohio-based construction company will pay $87,205 in lost wages and punitive damages and furnish significant remedial relief to settle a federal race discrimination and retaliation lawsuit, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today.  The EEOC had charged that Mike Enyart & Sons, Inc. discharged Mareo R. Allen in retaliation for his complaints about a racially hostile work environment.

Maverik Country Stores Sued for Violation of Americans with Disabilities Act

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit yesterday against Maverik, Inc., owners of the Maverik Country Store convenience store chain. which has locations through the mountain West.  According to EEOC's complaint, Maverik intentionally and unlawfully discriminated against Randy Ramos, who is HIV-positive, in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).

Western Trading Company Sued by EEOC

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit yesterday against Western Trading Company, Inc., an Army-Navy surplus company in metro Denver. The lawsuit alleges three violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) based on Western Trading's dealings with Tyler Riley, an employee with epilepsy who has grand mal seizures and who briefly worked for the company.

The EEOC also charged that Williams Country Sausage forced him out of his job.

EEOC Sues C.G.D. Developers For Race Discrimination

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced that it filed a race discrimination lawsuit today against C.G.D. Developers, Inc. for subjecting a black employee to a hostile work environment because of his race, at its facility in Gaffney, S.C. and various worksites where the employee, Joe M. Wheeler, was assigned. CGD is a South Carolina corporation and employed approximately 20 employees at the time of the harassment.
