Wal-Mart Pagará $150,000 Para Resolver Demanda Por Discriminación a Base De Edad Y La Discapacidad Por la EEOC

Wal-Mart Stores de Texas, L.L.C. (Wal-Mart) acordó en pagar $150,000 y proporcionar otros alivios significativos para resolver una demanda por discriminación de edad y discapacidad interpuesta por la Comisión Para la Igualdad de Oportunidades en el Empleo (EEOC), la agencia anunció hoy. La EEOC acusó en su demanda de que Wal-Mart discriminó en contra del gerente de la tienda en Keller, Texas, al someterlo al acoso, trato discriminatorio, y despedirlo debido a su edad. Wal-Mart to Pay $150,000 to Settle EEOC  Age and Disability Discrimination Suit

Wal-Mart Stores of Texas, L.L.C. (Wal-Mart) has agreed to pay $150,000 and provide other significant relief to settle an age and disability discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The EEOC charged in its suit that Wal-Mart discriminated against the manager of the Keller, Texas Walmart store by subjecting him to harassment, discriminatory treatment, and discharge because of his age.  The EEOC also charged that Wal-Mart refused to provide a reasonable accommodation for the man's  disability as federal law requires.

EEOC Sues International Transport Provider to  Stop Race and National Origin Harassment

NFI Interactive Logistics LLC, a major transportation and distribution services provider, violated federal law by subjecting black employees at the company's Bolingbrook, Ill., facility to harassment based on race and national origin (Ghanaian), the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today.  NFI, which is headquartered in New Jersey, is a privately owned company that counts Trader Joe's, Costco, Wal-Mart and other retailing giants as clients.
