Care Manor Healthcare, Llc Sued By EEOC For Retaliation

A Mountain Home, Arkansas based company that operates a nursing home and rehabilitation facility violated federal law by discriminating against an employee because she complained about the hiring of a manager who had sexually harassed her at a previous employer, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today. The employee also placed Mountain Home on notice that she had filed a charge of discrimination against her previous employer over the sexual harassment.

Aqua Tri to Pay Nearly $500,000 to Settle EEOC Sexual Harassment, Retaliation Suit

An Irvine, Calif.-based pool supply company will pay $462,500 to resolve a sexual harassment, retaliation and constructive discharge lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The EEOC had charged Aqua Tri, a supplier of pool sanitizing chemicals and other pool products, with subjecting a class of Hispanic employees to sexual harassment, retaliation for opposing it and forcing some of them out of their jobs.

EEOC Obtains $98,900 From GES Global Energy Services For Race Discrimination, Retaliation

A Houston energy company will pay $98,900 and provide additional remedial relief to resolve a discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. The EEOC had charged GES Global Energy Services, Inc., (GES) formerly known as IDM Equipment, Inc., and Global Energy Services Operating, LLC, formerly known as IDM Equipment, LLC (Global Energy Services) with race discrimination and retaliation against a group of African-Americans who worked in its "rig-up yard" in Houston.

Maxim Healthcare Services Settles EEOC Disability Discrimination Suit

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today that a federal court has approved a consent decree between the EEOC and Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc., which resolves the EEOC's disability discrimination lawsuit against the company.  The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, alleged that Maxim had failed to provide reasonable accommodations and ultimately discharged Anne Whitledge, director of clinical services, because she had brain cancer.

Oyster Bay Fire Department And Atlantic Steamer Fire Company No. 1 Settle EEOC Age Discrmimination Suit

he Oyster Bay Fire Department on Long Island has agreed to settle a class age discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. The fire department, as well as Atlantic Steamer Fire Company No. 1, the Town of Oyster Bay, and Villages of Oyster Bay Cove, Laurel Hollow, Mill Neck and Cove Neck, together will pay at least 31 firefighters lost pension money totaling $279,600 and provide increased monthly pension amounts going forward to several firefighters. All four villages are located within the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, on the north shore of Long Island, N.Y.
